Superior Spider-Man #5

I have to say I yet again this series manages to surprise me on how they can make bad so appealing. Like I hate Doc Ock as Spidey, so why am I still buying it? Because it is addicting!

Avengers #7

Not as good as I thought it would be, but had some really good moments and the art is amazing so I am still a fan. Although Spidey in it is killing me!

Nightwing#17

So I have finally started reading Nightwing again after all of the hype I have seen around Tumblr, and have found it is worth it. Damian in this issue is great, but alas that won’t really happen again will it! I can’t wait for #18 to see how Dick deals with Damian’s death.

Avengers #6 (came out last week but shh I got it late)

This is my first Avengers’ issue and I really only got it because of Spider-Man, but I will continue reading because it was pretty good considering I wasn’t expecting much.

Young Avengers #2

OMG Pretty much all I have to say so I don’t spoil anything, but I highly encourage anyone who is on the fence about the new Young Avengers series to give it a shot, it is really good so far (you know with the two issues we have so far)

Guardians of the Galaxy #0.1

Only picked this up because I think I will enjoy the movie more when it comes out if I have at least a little background. But I was hooked, so if the next issues are as good as this one I will definity be first in line to see Guardians of the Galaxy when it comes out.

My boyfriend’s birthday is literally THE DAY AFTER VALENTINE’S DAY! So instead of making him wait for his birthday present, or allowing him to feel like V-Day is more important then the day he escaped his mother’s resilient vagina (Bitch had to be made of steel to push out the monster that is Danny’s head) I gave him all his birthday gifts a week before his actual birthday. I think he was mostly excited about having Mass Effect again, Since we sold our old copy to pay some bills.
His Valentine’s day gifts will mostly consist of old Pokemon games for his brand new (refurbished) GAME BOY COLOR, and the drill he’s been dying to get. Valentine’s Day/ 21st Birthday done right! Love my Not So Little Fan Boy!

As you can see, looking through my blog and seeing this picture of me sporting my best attempt at Captain Marvel hair, I am huge fan of Captain Marvel. Carol Danvers is a beast and the writing and art are top notch. Like a fine imperial stout beer, this book punches you in the face with it’s boldness, in a good way. Last week I asked to have both the regular and variant number 5’s of Captain Marvel ready in my pull at A Comic Shop (the best comic shop in Orlando and possibly the universe).

Oral told me he didn’t think they’d get any variants in though because they don’t sell enough Captain Marvel!

You guys remember when Arrested Development and Firefly got cancelled and you thought “What the fuck Fox?!” Or when Marvel cancelled X-23? Yeah, don’t let some thing like that happen again.

Preorder Captain Marvel and make sure it’s on your pull lists. Tell your best friend, girl/boyfriend, grandma and/or weird coworker with that accent you can’t quite place to buy it. Fill out a bunch of pull sheets at local comic shop(s) using phony and childish pseudonyms. That last one you might want to use at a comic shop you don’t regularly shop at.

This series is wicked good. I absolutely adore it. It’s helped me through my depression and made me realize the only person stopping me from doing what I want to do is me, which is why I am getting back into aviation. It made me realize you should never fear failure.

I’m SO EXCITED. This is my first actual comic book purchase. (excluding things I have bought from the dollar bin solely because I liked the cover art)

I usually read trade paperbacks because I never know where to start and collecting all the individual comics has intimidated me for years. Plus I was too scared to go look like an idiot in a comic book store…I still feel like they are judging me though. For example, today the guy working said “Are you buying this for someone else?” and of course I wanted to be like “THIS IS FOR ME! I MOTHA FUCKIN LOVE AQUAMAN.” but instead I was polite. I just finished reading it and now I am sad because I don’t have anymore…

On another note, I feel like it is totally fitting for Aquaman to be my favorite super hero since I study fish/marine biology. Someday if I end up as a professor of ichthyology somewhere I’m putting a poster of Aquaman in my office.
